Paloma Valley Boys Soccer Team Faces St. Anthony in Playoffs

The Paloma Valley High School boys soccer team earned an at-large berth into the CIF playoffs and will play a wild-card game at St. Anthony High in Long Beach on Tuesday.

The Wildcats, led by high-scoring forward RJ Benz, finished the regular season with a 9-9-3 overall record. They finished Sunbelt League play with a 4-4-2 record after tying Temescal Canyon 2-2 on Feb. 12.

Benz has scored 18 goals this season, breaking the school single-season record. Jose Sandoval is the team's next highest scorer with seven goals.

St. Anthony is the No. 3 team from the Santa Fe League. The Saints finished league play 4-4 but were an impressive 14-5-2 overall.
